Spirit Ts - 100% cotton quality t-shirts designed by local designer David Caruso

Show your spirit and support The New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society with one of three shirts designed to keep New Orleans' great dining and drinking culture alive! Proceeds benefit the tourism and hospitality industries of New Orleans.

Designs include:

"Sip for City," which calls on people to support New Orleans bars and restaurants by attending the annual event, Tales of the Cocktail.

"Save The Sazerac," as the Sazerac is reported to be the first true cocktail, created by New Orleans pharmacist Antoine Amedee Peychaud.

Born in the French colony of St.-Domingue, he reportedly brought the recipe to New Orleans. Friends gathered frequently to sample Peychaud's brandy and bitters tonics, served in a coquetier, which is the French word for an eggcup, and eventually the word "coquetier" became "cocktail," due to mispronunciation.

Peychaud's Bitters, essential to a Sazerac, are available to this day.

"Drink In History," which is a reference to the enormous amounts of history found in New Orleans, especially in the bars and restaurants. Through Tales of the Cocktail and the Souterhn Comfort Cocktail Tour, guests can learn about the countless drinks and dishes created in New Orleans, as well as the many bars and restaurants in the French Quarter known around the world and the stories that have made them famous.

The t-shirts are also available at New Orleans retailer Savvy Gourmet.
