In 2006, Tales of the Cocktail formed a non-profit (501C3) organization entitled, The New Orleans Culinary and Culture Preservation Society. The group is dedicated to preserving New Orleans’ dining and drinking history, raising funds for the hospitality industry and producing the annual Tales of the Cocktail event.

Its mission is to preserve the rich history of the restaurants and bars of New Orleans and the unique culture of dining and drinking famous to the city, and to educate locals and visitors, as well as future generations and the hospitality industry, about this culinary heritage.

In 2004 and 2005, Tales of the Cocktail raised funds for the Delgado Community College Culinary School Scholarship Program. The formation of the New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society would work to generate increased contributions to such organizations that promote and preserve the hospitality and service industry of New Orleans.

After the devastating effects of hurricane Katrina, it is more important than ever that we preserve our history and the spirit of New Orleans.
